Strengthening Ties: MAJaC and UTG School of Journalism Explore Enhanced Collaboration
Yesterday, our Director of Training James Badjie and Head of Journalism, Mustapha Ceesay met Professor Mel the Dean and Senior Lecturer Dr. Onifade of the UTG School of Journalism and Digital Media to explore ways of strengthening the existing collaboration between our two institutions.
Discussions focused on:
1. Further streamlining the existing Memorandum of Understanding;
2. Promoting student and trainer exchange programs;
3. Advancing staff capacity-building initiatives to foster academic and professional excellence;
4. Collaborative research;
We are confident that deepening this partnership will contribute meaningfully to the development of journalism
education and practice in The Gambia.
The good news:
MAJaC advanced diploma graduates can proceed to the UTG SJDM and have a 1 year course waiver as per the existing MoU.
The SJDM school leadership is in full support of the additional areas of partnership and look forward to the working together in unison.
We would like to thank the SJDM management for the warm reception and their willingness to work together in the quest to help our students reach their full potential.
